Dan & Sandy Winkelman
Senior Pastor
email
Dan Winkelman is the senior pastor of Highland Church. Dan has been a member of Highland since 2000, joined the staff as associate pastor in 2003, and accepted the position as senior pastor in August 2004.
A Vietnam veteran, Dan was born in Northern Indiana and served in the military before beginning his work on the railroad. Dan has felt a call on his life from the time he was young, but it took some convincing before he accepted the fact he had been called into pastoral ministries.
Dan is now excited to be part of building local churches and seeing them well equipped to effectively represent Christ to the world. Dan is passionate about people: witnessing the transformation of those who have never known the benefits and blessings of following Christ, walking and ministering with people through life’s difficult stages, and inspiring and training fully devoted disciples who are unwilling to settle for status quo Christianity. Dan also brings these ambitions to his position on the Assemblies of God ministry board, a team devoted to revitalizing churches.
In his spare time, Dan enjoys fishing, hunting, an occasional golf game, checking out the local restaurants, and time with family. Dan and his wife Sandy have three grown children: daughter Amy (Stevens Point), son Jesse and wife Veronica (Indiana), son Andy and daughter-in-law Dawn and their children Faith, Daniel and Julia (Indiana).

Nathan & Cristi Schroeder
Associate/Youth Pastor
email
Nathan Schroeder is the Associate Pastor of Highland Church. He oversees The Source Youth Ministries, associate pastor duties, The Alpha Course, Life Groups (small groups), and all things media/design/graphics/and web.
After graduating from North Central University with a degree in pastoral studies and an emphasis in youth ministries, Nathan served as youth pastor for 4 years at Berlin’s Faith Community Church, pioneering the church’s youth ministries program.
Nathan joined Highland’s team in January 2005. Since coming on staff, he has been involved in both international and stateside youth missions trips. His true passion is to see people find, pursue, and fulfill their God-given purpose and design. He looks forward to seeing the development of more age-specific ministries at Highland Church, specifically those geared towards junior/senior high students and college & career aged young adults. He hopes to see Life Groups continue to become integral in Highland’s growth and identity and to implement regular non-traditional offsite services and events.
Nathan happily lives in Stevens Point with wife Cristi and two boys, Isaac and Ethan. He enjoys art, music, graphic design, reading, the outdoors (especially hiking in the Southwest), and more than anything, hanging out with his family.

Laura & Tim Michalski
Associate Pastor of Childrens Ministries

Laura Michalski oversees Highland’s children’s ministries. Laura came to Highland Church in June 2006 after graduating from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida where she studied Christian leadership and communication.
A native of Waupaca, Laura is excited to be back in central Wisconsin and serving at Highland Church. Laura has a background in theatre and is an avid lover of the arts. She looks forward to seeing drama, music and visual arts regularly incorporated in Highland’s services in a way that enhances our understanding of God.
Laura also has a passion to be used by the Lord in building the foundational faith of children. She is intricately involved in weekly children’s ministries. Posing as Truvy Tropolopogos, a news reporter for Kids Rock News Live, Sofiya Petrova, a famous director from New York, or simply a passionate and dramatic Kid’s Rock teacher, Laura regularly brings the truth of Christ to children in an engaging, interactive way.
In her few moments of spare time, Laura enjoys baking, road trips, board games, time spent with friends… and maybe bowling.
